Show notes
Three people. Three waffles. Absolutely no side dishes. Mike’s baseball weekend ends at Waffle House, but not before another umpire showdown and a team dinner at WingHouse that turns out to be considerably less family-friendly than expected. The boys investigate baseball’s reality-TV moms, overpriced dreams of athletic glory, and the fine art of letting kids be kids. Robb’s Halloween spirit faces an intervention courtesy of black ranch dressing, while he and Josh unveil WonkaCast—and Mike would like to remind everyone that he hasn’t retired yet. Plus, a capybara café, an 86-year-old speed demon, Helen Mirren appreciation, Charlie Callas on Carson, and an Ace Hardware shoplifting story that puts electrical parts in a place they were never meant to go.

[SPEAKER_09]: That was their theme song because that was their biggest hit, Sunny and Share that did the beat goes on.
[SPEAKER_09]: The beat goes on.
[SPEAKER_08]: Very good trivia question because most people assumed that the theme to the Sunny and Share show was, I got you babe, but the theme is actually the beat goes on.
[SPEAKER_09]: And I would say I got you babe might be my favorite Sunny and Share song.
[SPEAKER_08]: One of my favorite songs ever, actually.
[SPEAKER_08]: I think it's a very good song.
[SPEAKER_09]: I got you, babe.
[SPEAKER_09]: You know we can you, babe.

[SPEAKER_09]: Great to have you along here on Monday.
[SPEAKER_09]: It was a busy weekend of travel.
[SPEAKER_09]: Once again, I believe all the baseball tournaments that I attend are an hour and a half up the road in Sarasota and, uh, I don't know why, but that's where we go.
[SPEAKER_09]: We go to Sarasota.
[SPEAKER_09]: So, uh, it was drive up on Saturday, drive back on Saturday night, drive up on Sunday morning, lose a game and come right back on Sunday morning.
[SPEAKER_09]: No, if you
[SPEAKER_09]: No temptation to go watch the Red Sox on Sunday?
[SPEAKER_09]: No, no temptation whatsoever.
[SPEAKER_09]: We were too depressed to do that.
[SPEAKER_09]: And if you had been cruising along on the interstate, Ruth 75, somewhere outside of Fort Myers, Florida, and you had pulled your car off into a one of the finer chain eateries in America, a place with the initials WH, would you like to guess?
[SPEAKER_08]: Not the White House.
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, God, one word, right?
[SPEAKER_08]: How awful house.
[SPEAKER_08]: Waffle house.

[SPEAKER_09]: Michael had a waffle.
[SPEAKER_09]: Daddy had a waffle.
