[SPEAKER_05]: Michael Mera, Radio Entertainment.
[SPEAKER_01]: who this is to radio that go where you go medium, go radio that's with you every night through the long commuter fight and in the morning with your constant mama radio
[SPEAKER_01]: Who listens to radio?
[SPEAKER_01]: No matter if it's a moment just bring a fall Who listens to radio only 150 million?
[SPEAKER_01]: 150 million people, that's all!
[SPEAKER_02]: I promise, beware in your story, come on up!
[SPEAKER_00]: Wait a second, that doesn't sound like a typical opening song on Rob Radio.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey folks, it's your old buddy Rob and who in the Rob Radio thing for you on Friday.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is in lieu of a TMLS classic, but we thought it would be kind of important to do this.
[SPEAKER_00]: As everyone in the world knows, we lost Dolly part in this week.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's very sad, naturally, she was a philanthropist, she was an actress, she was a composer, a theme park magnate, Grammy Award winner, rock and roll, Hall of Fame, Country and Western Hall of Fame.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't list all the awards because I want to keep the show under 10 hours, but I think the main thing we need to remember here is that nobody,
[SPEAKER_00]: And if you look on social media or watch the news or pick up a newspaper, you saw it this week.
[SPEAKER_00]: No celebrity, no civilian, no co-worker, no employee had a bad word to say about her.
[SPEAKER_00]: And if there's any silver lining here, it's that maybe her passing made us more aware of the fact that we need more good people.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Dolly, you are.
[SPEAKER_00]: quite a template for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So today, let's take a look at this entertainment juggernaut who had 27 hits.
[SPEAKER_00]: On the Hot 100, that's the Billboard Hot 100.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not country charts.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's real top 40 music, 27-inch, or you want to talk country.
[SPEAKER_00]: 111 hits on the country chart.
[SPEAKER_00]: 25 of them went to number one.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's huge.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Elvis Presley and Beatles numbers right there.
[SPEAKER_00]: So today on Rob Radio, we remember Dolly, we salute Dolly, and we do it musically.
[SPEAKER_00]: got a great stack of records here.
[SPEAKER_00]: These are all dolly part and records from the beginning of a career right on through.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think after listening to it, you will enjoy it and you will agree that this is a tremendous loss in the world of music.
[SPEAKER_00]: God bless you dolly part and safe home and let's get started.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm sure you know this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest hit of her career.
[SPEAKER_00]: From 1980, she's working nine to five right here, Dolly on Rob Radio.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm a lot of being in a stumble to the kitchen for myself, a couple of ambition and y'all and stretch and try to come to life.
[SPEAKER_04]: Jumping shower and the blood starts pumping, I don't want the streets to traffic starts jumping and folks like me on the job for nine.
[SPEAKER_04]: You're taking it all together, just use your mind And then never give me credit It's enough that I'm you Crazy and you let it Aren't you right?
[SPEAKER_04]: For service and devotion You would think that I would deserve a fair promotion Won't you move our head But the boss won't seem to let me I swear I suck
[SPEAKER_04]: You let your dreams just to watch them shed You're just a step on the boss man's ladder But you got dreams he'll never take away Same boat with a lot of your friends Waiting for the day your ship will come in And the tide's gonna turn and it's all gonna roll
[SPEAKER_04]: Every day, get in by it's all taken and I'll give it away But you don't mind and you never get ready It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it I'm too far here, they've got to where they want you It's all better life when you think about it Don't you get some rich man's game No matter what they call it, you should win
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're just, you're for mine And they never give you credit That's what's going on
[SPEAKER_00]: Dolly Part, non-Rob Radio, 9-5, and if you hear that typewriter sound that's in the background of that record, that's Dolly tapping her acrylic fingernails on a table.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not a typewriter, that's natural sound from Dolly Part.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is the original recording of this song, one of her signature records.
[SPEAKER_00]: It goes back to 1974, and there's nothing else to say, but lovely.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's Dolly.
[SPEAKER_04]: Should stay, I would only be in you way So I'll go, but I know, I'll think of you each day I'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you'll believe, you
[SPEAKER_04]: It is sweet, memories That's all I am taking with me Good bye Please don't cry We both know that I know What you need
[SPEAKER_04]: I hope life treats you kind And I hope that you have all the two ever dreamed of And I wish you joy and happiness But above all of this I wish you love
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for watching this video and I'll see you in the next video.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dolly Barton with a song she wrote for or about Porter Wagner, but she composed it, hoping that Elvis Presley would record it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great song, and if you listen to it, it sounds like an Elvis song.
[SPEAKER_00]: Even the talk break in the middle is something Elvis would do, but when she brought it to Elvis, the Colonel that jerk would not let Elvis record it because he demanded that Dolly would give up the publishing.
[SPEAKER_00]: and she kept the publishing and Elvis never recorded it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good thing she held on to the publishing because when Whitney Houston recorded that for the soundtrack of the bodyguard, oh, she made a few million dollars on the publishing, so I'm sorry Elvis never sang it, but a dolly always with the good business set.
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's one called two doors down on Rob Radio.
[SPEAKER_04]: Don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, don't stop
[SPEAKER_04]: Cause I can't stay inside this lonely room and drop forever I'm like I'm really rather joinin' To those flying in the air Don't stop, they're livin' and friggin' And they're livin' up on it To those flyers, don't wear it, don't wear it Don't wear it, don't wear it See, I ain't no longer comin' Feelin' sorry
[SPEAKER_04]: I can't believe I'm standing here right, I don't snooze and talking Making conversation with the new love I found I ask him if he'd like to be alone and we start working That I hold to my place away To don't carry out, to don't stand
[SPEAKER_02]: To the dark, we're not a red glare round We see our end, seen and in, we're the number star Where?
[SPEAKER_00]: Two doors down, no surprise that would be a hit.
